Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities:

The Purchasing Manager will manage all purchasing activities for a plastic film and sheet extrusion operation in North Central Ohio.  Focus will be on continual development of strategic sourcing, cost reduction, and inventory control strategies. Duties will include:

• Management of purchasing projects involving vendor identification, selection, and qualification.
• Negotiation and administration of contracts for, plastic raw materials including resins, additives, and color. Will also be responsible for purchasing of production  and packaging supplies such as tape, shrink wrap, etc.
• Utilize computerized inventory and purchasing system to forecast materials requirements, maintain and monitor inventory, track vendor performance and control costs.
• Manage annual spend of approximately $40 to $50 million.

Requirements include:

.

• BS or BA in Purchasing, Business or related discipline.
• CPM preferred
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of Plastic Resin, Additive, and Color Purchasing experience with specific skills dealing with major plastic materials manufacturers and distributors.
• Specific skills in purchasing of production and packaging supplies.
• Strong EDP systems experience.
• Advanced skills in negotiation, supplier development, and cost reduction.
