Technical Service Engineer - Blow Molding

Salary Minimum: $50,000 to $65,000 plus OT

Client is a fast growing, innovative leader in the blow molding industry.  The company produces some of the most advanced PET blow molding equipment in the world and recent expansion has created an immediate need for an experienced Technical Service Engineer to assist in new installations and problem solving existing production lines.  This is a tremendous opportunity offering great challenge and advancement opportunity.

Responsibilities:

The Technical Service Engineer will travel extensively throughout the United States working with a broad range of customers and providing technical support and problem solving expertise.  Duties will include:

  • Utilize experience in injection or blow molding to assist customer in the layout, installation and start-up of new PET blow molding production equipment.
  • Advise customer on company recommended Maintenance Procedures, spare part inventory, and training of machine operators and technical personnel.
  • Work with customers in troubleshooting machine, process, tooling or materials problems.  Will have expertise in hydraulic, electrical, PLC, and mechanical systems diagnosis and repair procedures.
  • Will produce detailed technical reports describing problems and actions required for solution.

 

Requirements include:

  • Minimum of an Associates Degree or Technical Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plastics Technology.  BS degree in Technology or Engineering is preferred but not required.
  • At least 5 to 10 years of “hands on” experience in Maintenance and Repair of Blow Molding and/or Injection Molding Machines.
  • Specific skills including:  Ability to diagnose problems with Hydraulic and related mechanical machine components and the skills to disassemble, repair,  reinstall and test such components.
  • Specific skills and ability to diagnose and repair Electronic Control Systems and Electrical systems including ability to read schematics and P and ID’s.  Candidates without these skills cannot be considered.
  • Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC software experience is required.
  • Ability to travel in excess of 80%.

 

Compensation:

  • Candidates can live in any part of the United States, so long as they have access to a major Air Hub.
