Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Manager is a key member of the Plant Management Team with primary responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the manufacturing, assembly, and machine maintenance departments. This position manages a high volume injection molding and assembly facility operating 24/7 with approximately 200 engineering and production personnel. Duties include:
- Manages all aspects of manufacturing and production operations to ensure production schedules are met in accordance with business goals and customer demand.
- Coordinates with Logistics, Purchasing, Engineering and others in the generation of production schedules, forecasts, materials requirements, and maintenance plans.
- Ensures the availability of all necessary labor, equipment and services required to meet manufacturing requirements.
- Develops and implements lean manufacturing systems and continuous productivity improvement methods.
- Manages personnel including selection, training, evaluation, and discipline in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements include
- BS in Plastics Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Production Management.
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of Production Management experience in injection molding and assembly operations. Candidates without Plastic Injection Molding experience will not be considered.
- Skills and ability to analyze manufacturing operations, identify areas for improvement, develop solutions, and present concepts/ideas to senior management for approval.
- Must be Lean Systems knowledgeable and know how to put into practice (5S, problem solving techniques, TPM, Kan Ban, Yokoten, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Cell Concept)
- Full knowledge of Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP).
