Responsibilities:
The Logistics Manager will direct all aspects of corporate inventory and materials management, forcasting, master scheduling, and distribution operations. This is a key management responsibility reporting directly to the Plant Manager. Duties include:
- Manage operation and staffing of the Corporate Logistics function including Materials, Customer Service and Distribution.
- The development and implementation of departmental operating systems, policies and budgets; establishment of performance goals and achievement metrics; and the provision of periodic management reports.
- Evaluating employee performance, providing and encouraging training/development programs, and making decisions regarding personnel selection and disciplinary actions.
- Coordinating with Plant Manager and Production Managers to establish production schedules designed to fully utilize available capacity, labor, tools and equipment.
- Working with the Materials Manager to control the movement of materials in and out of the plant including managing inventory replenishment based on production schedules, current inventory, customer orders, and forecasts.
- Development of state of the art Production Control and Planning, Logistics Management and Cost Optimization Systems.
Requirements include:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Logistics, MBA preferred.
- 5-10 years experience as a Logistics Manager in an Automotive Plastic Injection Molding environment.
- Specific experience working with Automotive Industry OEM’s and demonstrated understanding of internet portals, systems, and procedures.
- Logistics Management Certification
- Proficiency with MRP, Lean, and EDI systems
- Previous supervisory experience; Demonstrated ability to develop and lead a team
- Proficiency with Ford and Chrysler MMOG systems.
- Experienced in Lean Manufacturing, KanBan, JIT and Value Stream Mapping.
