Project Manager

Our client is a well established and respected manufacturer of durable precision injection molds and tooling.  The company provides high quality tooling and molding services to a broad range of customers in high tech electronics, consumer products, and medical device industries. Because of increasing business, the company is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to assist in new product and customer development.

Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for providing expert technical support and organizing product and tool design, contract injection molding, and other customer centered projects.  Reporting to the President, the Project Manager will be responsible for working closely with Customer, Sales, Design and Manufacturing Engineers to organize and coordinate all aspects of new product development, tool design and construction, or contract injection molding projects:  Duties will include:

• Analyze customer product design and make suggestions for materials, provide technical insights needed to improve form, fit, function, cost to produce, quality and delivery.
• Identify and develop business opportunities for new customers and expand sales to existing customers.
• Provide accurate project cost and delivery quotes.
• Manage all aspects of new product development including prototyping, testing, and transfer to production including IQ, OQ, PQ validations for medical device customers.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, QS, and FDA requirements.

Requirements include

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology or equivalent experience
• 10 or more years of progressive experience in Tooling and Injection Molding with strong technical understanding of tool steels, machining processes, thermoplastic materials, injection molding and manufacturing.   
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with Tool Makers, Engineers,  Customers, and other Managers.
• Computer skills in CAD and Office Software including MS Project.
