Our client is a contract manufacturer providing a variety of plastic molding, assembly, filling and packaging services primarily to medical device and pharmaceutical customers. New business expansion has created a need for a Manufacturing Manager to direct a critical high volume injection molding and assembly operation. Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Manager will have full Profit and Loss responsibility for a stand alone injection molding and filling operation producing very high volume (more than 1 million parts per day), precision medical device products. Duties will include:
- Management of injection molding and high speed liquid filling operations.
- Implementing existing Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing techniques to reduce costs and increase production efficiencies.
- Development and Training of Molding Technicians, Quality Assurance, Maintenance and Production Personnel.
- Providing technical support for and management of FDA/ISO 13485 documentation and compliance requirements.
- Providing expert technical support and day to day involvement in process troubleshooting and optimization in a high volume production environment.
- Working with customers and corporate Project Engineers in the coordination of new product development and launch projects.
- Providing assistance in justification, selection, and installation of capital equipment.
- Analyzing production and operating statistics to identify potential areas for improvement and develop/implement those improvements.
- Produce and present regular reports to management.
Requirements include
- BS in Business, Engineering, or Production Management
- 10 or more years of experience in the Injection Molding Industry with 3 or more years of experience in a production or operations management role. Candidate must have proven skills in injection molding process technology, materials, tooling and equipment.
- Strong technical knowledge of high speed filling or automated assembly production lines and associated equipment.
- At least 2 years of experience in FDA regulated medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing with specific understanding of clean room operations and compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Leadership and mentoring skills-ability to organize and inspire others to perform at high level.
